Oscar Isaac: indie film idol, Star Wars hero and now Marvel star.
Isaac, who seems to have a very thirsty fan base, is taking his talents to Disney+. He is in negotiations to star in Moon Knight, the new series based on the Marvel comic series. Isaac’s casting would be a big deal, it would immediately make the Disney+ show one of the most anticipated projects in Marvel’s upcoming schedule.
Isaac would be playing Marc Spector, former CIA mercenary and millionaire whose body is infused with superpowers after being saved by the Egyptian moon god Khonshu. Spector uses these new powers to fight bad guys in the dead of night, jumping from skyscraper-to-skyscraper in a slick tight suit and bad ass cape.
Yes, in many ways Moon Knight is Marvel’s answer to Batman. So you can expect that sort of vibe with Moon Knight.
Jeremy Slater is set to write the series although no director is currently attached. Moon Knight will be the character’s first adaptation and there’s a chance it could be a huge hit. Marvel Studios has a way of making lesser-known heroes massively popular. They turned a talking Raccoon into a household name after all. I think the casting of Isaac will help this project become even more promising. Yes, people drool over him and his dreamy eyes but he’s also a ridiculously talented dude too. He’s not just a movie star, he’s a legitimate actor. He’s worked with the Coens, for Christ’s sake. He will bring a certain oomph to the role.
Plus he will bring, you know, horny fans. So that’s good.
