Rememeber when the internet went wild last week after Jeff Bridges released footage of himself once again suited up as The Dude from The Big Lebowski? Was there a sequel in the works? A Netflix spin-off? A podcast? A one-man show?
Ah, not so fast. It turns out that Bridges reprised his iconic role for a Stella Artois Super Bowl ad. But he’s not alone, Sarah Jessica Parker also leads the commercial as Carrie Bradshaw from Sex And The City. Carrie and The Dude? Someone call Carson Daly and Tickle Me Elmo because the 90s are back!

I don’t think many people really, truly thought a Big Lebowski sequel was in the works. That’s just so not the Coen Brothers. But Bridges’s character has only grown in popularity over the years. And ol’ Mr Bridges has slowly transformed into that character more and more as the years have gone on. Watch an interview with him today and it’s like he’s doing his best Dude impression. So the idea of him playing that part again isn’t out of the realm of possibility. But for a full-length project? Not so likely.
All of this makes me want a Carrie Bradshaw/Dude crossover. They’re actually fairly similar characters when you think about it: very close with their friends, both love to drink and have sex and both love to smoke. Do I smell a romantic relationship in the future?
