Yikes, it’s been quite the week for upcoming movies starring Tom Holland. First the young actor is essentially ex-communicated from the MCU and now his other film project, Uncharted, has just lost its director.

Uncharted, based on the super popular video game series about treasure hunter Nathan Drake, is currently director-less because filmmaker Dan Trachtenberg has exited the project. Deadline is reporting that Sony is currently searching for a new director and production is still scheduled to start early next year. So don’t panic, the movie is still happening and Sony will find a replacement for Trachtenberg soon. All you Nathan Drake fans can settle down!

Trachtenberg, best known for 10 Cloverfield Lane and his work on Amazon’s The Boys, was an inspired choice to direct Uncharted. After all, the filmmaker got his start with a fan-made movie based on the game Portal. That short film sky-rocketed his career and helped him land subsequent gigs. We’re not sure why he is leaving Uncharted but there’s no doubt we will see more from Trachtenberg soon.

Holland will also be fine but you bet he’s probably exhausted after all the headlines about his movies this week. But his career is still chugging along merrily. He’s still Spider-Man, he’s still Nathan Drake and he is still adored by many. And don’t forget that he also stars in Chaos Walking, the Doug Lyman-directed sci-fi film that is currently waiting for a release date.
