Vin Diesel has never lied to me. Well, to be quite honest Vin Diesel has never even talked to me. But he’s always seemed like the truthful type…aside from saying the second XXX was going to be amazing and that one of the Fast & Furious films would be nominated for Best Picture and that Pitch Black would be a franchise that would live on for decades. Aside from all that, Diesel seems to usually be honest.
So I believe him when he tells ComicBook.com that the Guardians of the Galaxy will appear in some capacity in Thor: Love And Thunder. Here’s the tweet with the quote. He seems pretty certain of things!
I’ll believe it! The Guardians and Thor have become the most comedic elements of the Marvel Cinematic Universe so the idea that the very funny Taika Waititi would want them all together in his next Thor makes a lot of sense. And the thought of him directing all of these humorous characters is very exciting. This is just good news all around.
Diesel also mentions a new description for Groot: Alpha Groot. That must be the next iteration of the lovable talking tree. We had Groot, then Baby Groot, then Teen Groot and now Alpha Groot. Does that mean he’s going to be aggressive and demanding control? Does it mean he’s going to be hulked out and massive? Or does it just mean he’ll be bickering over who is in charge? That all remains to be seen.
I don’t think anyone will be surprised by the news of the Guardians joining Thor in his next film. Their chemistry was just too good in the Avengers films and to not get more of that would be a crime. It guarantees that Love And Thunder will contain a lot of humor and that’s pleasant news — if not a little unsurprising.
