You may have forgotten but Netflix is just days away from premiering a brand new Steve Carell comedy series from The Office mastermind Greg Daniels. That’s kind of a big deal! People love those guys!

To remind folks that Space Force will begins streaming on The ‘Flix (people call it that, right?) on May 29, the streaming giant released a new trailer for the show today. Take a look!

What do you think? I don’t want to sound like a fanboy but, man, I really like what I see from Space Force. The cast alone is worth giving it a try. But the trailer above gives me some serious Veep, Silicon Valley and, yes, The Office vibes. It’s all met with a sort of polished feel that only Netflix’s money can buy. This looks like a big budget movie with a cast that is almost too good to be true. I am really, really into it.

Space Force is about General Mark R. Naird (Carell) who is tasked with leading the newly-formed and completely-clueless Space Force, an arm of the American military that does…well, we aren’t really sure, are we? Much like with the real life Space Force, it seems that the characters on the show are confused about the branch’s purpose. In the real world that is leading to millions of misspent cash and wasted time. In the comedy world, that leads to lots and lots of funny. If only true Washington mismanagement was as humorous as this.

It looks like Space Force will touch upon — and poke fun at — many things including politics, bureaucracy, public relations and just general character conflict comedy. That is a lot of ground to cover but I have faith in Daniels and everyone else involved. Like I said, I am getting a good feeling from this show and I am hopeful Netflix has something special on their hands.
