The first trailer for Amazon’s Truth Seekers is here and it promises more of the paranormal fun we have come to expect from Nick Frost and Simon Pegg.

Frost and Pegg co-wrote and co-star in the new series, which follows a group of ghost hunters investigating a rash of paranormal sightings across the UK. But the more they dig into the mystery, the more ominous and dangerous things become. The press material for Truth Seekers suggests that there is a large conspiracy at work here, something that will put everyone at risk.

From the looks of this first teaser (released as part of Comic-Con @ Home), Nick Frost seems to be the series lead. That’s exciting since Frost is usually playing a somewhat-smaller part than Pegg. In fact, we hardly see a glimpse of Pegg in this trailer. That being said, I am sure he is all over this show, they’re just keeping him noticeably absent from this first promo.

I like the look of this. Yes, it feels a bit similar to previous Frost/Pegg collaborations but that definitely isn’t a bad thing since these two always deliver. Plus I like the literal look of this series: the cinematography, direction and special effects look right up my alley. And I’m sure yours too.

Truth Seekers is set to stream on Amazon Prime this fall.

Truth Seekers is a supernatural comedy series about a team of part-time paranormal investigators who team up to uncover and film ghost sightings across the UK, sharing their adventures on an online channel for all to see. However, as they stake out haunted churches, underground bunkers and abandoned hospitals with their array of homemade ghost-detecting gizmos, their supernatural experiences grow more frequent, more terrifying and even deadly, as they begin to uncover a conspiracy that could bring about Armageddon for the entire human race
