DC FanDome: ‘The Flash’ Concept Art Is Something You’d Hang on your Wall

In a bit of fashion news, we have learned that Barry Allen is getting a new suit. We saw concept art of said suit at today’s DC FanDome and, boy howdy, it looks pretty slick. It’s dark, it’s electric, it’s not nearly as bulky and “realistic” as the suit we saw in Zack Snyder’s Justice League. Director Andy Muschietti said the new duds were created by none other than Bruce Wayne. That would explain the darkness of the suit. I didn’t know Wayne was into fashion design but, hey, he’s a man of many talents.

Screenwriter Christina Hodson promised that The Flash would be the beginning of the DCEU’s multiverse. We already knew that since we have learned that both Michael Keaton and Ben Affleck would be playing their own respective Batmen in the movie, laying the ground work for more variations of DC characters in other films. Hodson is suggesting that the multiverse is going to be a big deal for DC/Warner Bros moving forward. It sounds like the studio is really committing to the concept. That gives them a lot of creative freedom to do whatever they want in terms of casting, spin-offs, sequels and story. After all these years, DC Films is finally figuring out what it wants to be.

The second major piece of concept art from The Flash shows us a shadowy Flash fighting alongside what looks like Michael Keaton’s Batman. You can tell by his fighting stance and that suit. Now you tell me that this wouldn’t be hanging on your bedroom wall as a kid. This is what comic fanboys’ dreams are made of.

Muschietti promised a Flash film with humor, some horror and lots of heart. We will see if he delivers when the movie opens on June 3, 2022.
