TROUBLE CITY

The NolanOscopy: Insomnia

Joined by returning guest Brett Blake, Frame Work’s ongoing coverage of the films of Christopher Nolan continues with his first big Hollywood movie, the Al Pacino dirty cop picture Insomnia! A bit of an outlier in the Nolan filmography, this remake of a nihilistic Nordic noir lacks a lot of his signature quirks and offers a more conventional thriller, but is that actually a secret strength? Or is that something of a backhanded compliment, in this case? Is Al Pacino good in this? Is Hillary Swank? Robin Williams certainly is.

And on a personal note, while Frame Work has been extremely fortunate to post up at Trouble City for the past year, the time has come to spread our wings. We’re currently building a home of our own, and will be making the official move there in the near future. Full details will be forthcoming (very) soon, but we’d like to thank Trouble City for being such a great host, and we’re deeply grateful for all the people we’ve come into contact with through this site.

Soon, you’ll be able to find all the old episodes on one site, but you can do it right now on the podcast app of your choice. Just look for the artwork below.
